The Fairy Queen Train’s steam locomotive was certified by the Guinness Book of Records in 1998

The Fairy Queen train made way back in 1855, that runs between Rajasthan New and Delhi, is the oldest working steam locomotive in the world. It was certified by the Guinness Book of Records in 1998 as the world’s oldest functioning steam engine.It was also awarded the Heritage Award from the International Tourist Bureau, Berlin in March 2000.




The Fairy Queen is sceduled to depart every second and fourth Saturday of every month from Delhi Cantonment Railway Station at 10:00 hrs. Reporting time is 09.00 hrs at Delhi Cantonment Railway Station.

The Fairy Queen locomotive hauls an AC chair car coach accomodating 50 tourist with an attached pantry car for on – board catering services to the delight of the holidaymakers. As an added attraction , the coach has a beautiful lounge in the front , which provides full view of the Fairy Queen while on run.
